Slackware Linux was first created by Patrick Volkerding at the end of 1992, with
Version 1.0 appearing in July 1993, making it the oldest Linux distribution in
existence today.
Although Slackware does not have a large repository of software, you can add
Slackware compatible software to your computer by going to various third-party
Slackware vendors, or to compile the programs individually from source.
